Gender Equities
Evaluation of Samajhdar Jodidhar (Understanding Partner): A program on working with men and boys for gender equality
The objective of the project implemented in Maharashtra was to improve gender relations specifically by: (i) Bringing about changes in the knowledge, attitude and behavior of men and boys on issues related to gender equality and violence against women in selected communities in Maharashtra; and (ii) Increasing the engagement of men with and utilization of public health facilities for reproductive health care services under the National Rural Health Mission. Scientists from the Evaluation Centre led a rapid evaluation informed by a theory-driven evaluation approach to explore the sustainability impacts of the intervention. The evaluation explored whether this program is having an impact on gender inequities and how the program needs to be modified for future implementation.
