Raises questions about how we select people to become evaluators.&nbsp; Are there some people who have an innate sense and ability?<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Foster, support, and believe in evaluation capacity building<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Build on the knowledge systems people already have in place (Indigenous knowledge)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>How to work in communities<\/strong><ul><li>You need the support of positional leaders<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Identify, support, collaborate with evaluation advocates in situ (do not call them evaluation champions \u2013 this is seen as competitive)<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Develop\/teach\/learn from evaluation liaisons \u2013 community members who learn enough about evaluation to engage others, advocate, and support the process<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>A key requirement: commitment over the long haul<\/strong><ul><li>This is not how most contracts are written<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Must be able to respond to evolving contexts\/crises<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Suggests why teaching community members may be a cost-effective way to proceed<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201cStart where you are. Use what you have.
